MY EDUCATION

2022

LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY

I graduated with an MS in Digital Marketing in May 2022. In this program, I learned the latest in digital media, communications, and analytics, and how to apply this to your company.

2020

ALPHA CHI
NATIONAL COLLEGE HONOR SOCIETY

Invitation only society for the top 10% of graduate students. I attended workshops with fellow members to learn how we could help our communities.

2017

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY

​I graduated with a BS in Business Administration: Integrated Marketing Communications in May 2017. In addition to my coursework, I worked with local businesses for class projects.

ALPHA KAPPA PSI 
BUSINESS FRATERNITY

As secretary, I took attendance records and kept accurate and complete minutes of all meetings on Microsoft Word. This leadership position utilized skills in typing and effective listening.

I’ve had the opportunity to hold a variety of roles for different clients throughout the years. Some businesses I worked with started decades ago, while others were brand new, and I appreciate the opportunities I had to help their businesses grow. COPYWRITER - THINK TANK PR & MARKETING

  • Informs and engages the target audience of B2B and B2C companies through content marketing.

  • Writes copy for blog posts, landing pages, media alerts, media pitches, and press releases.

  • Proofreads and edits copy for booklets, brochures, flyers, newsletters, and rack cards.

  • Uses SEO principles to maximize the copy’s reach.

  • Conducts high-quality research to frame the direction of the copy.

  • Reaches out to TV, radio, newspaper, and magazine media outlets on behalf of clients to give them media coverage.

  • Collaborates with other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects.

  • Programs used include Basecamp, Semrush, Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Office, WordPress, Shopify, and Squarespace.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT - LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY

  • Assisted the marketing and communications team in creating, scheduling, and posting social media content on Agorapulse to the university's social media profiles.

  • Promoted upcoming events, observations, and holidays, and used branded hashtags.

  • Went on photo shoots to take pictures of students on campus and of the campus itself for new content.

  • Edited select photos to adjust the sharpness, brightness, and white balance.

  • Oversaw posts for the student-led publication The Linden Gold, and had images and captions adjusted as needed.

  • Collaborated with other departments to assist in communicating with students, faculty, and alumni.

  • Served on the Social Media Advisory Committee to offer insight and ideas to other departments.

  • Programs used include Microsoft Teams, Agorapulse, Linktree, and social media accounts Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

ONLINE MARKETING INTERN - BLAYZER DIGITAL MARKETING GROUP

  • Used copywriting and editing skills to write blog posts for Blayzer and their clients.

  • Wrote the SEO description for blog posts and webpages in the Yoast SEO plugin on WordPress.

  • Assisted with creating marketing personas for clients and press releases for Blayzer.

  • Collaborated with the marketing team to write client case studies. 

  • Contributed text to the redesign of websites.

  • Researched competitor websites and social media accounts, and used Semrush to see how their websites were performing for competitor analysis reports.

  • Found data from Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console to compile monthly reports for clients. This includes organic and paid ads with their cost-per-click (CPC), click-through-rate (CTR), number of clicks and impressions, and more.

  • Clients included a nonprofit summer camp app, IT company, custom label-making company, chiropractor, chocolate shop, auto repair shop, divorce attorney, and trucking industry attorneys. 

  • Blayzer Commerce hosted the inaugural Midwest Ecommerce Summit on September 24, October 1, and October 8, 2020 to share the latest in B2B and B2C ecommerce strategies. 

  • Attended the virtual SMX Next conference, which ran from June 23 to June 24, to learn about SEO and SEM strategies from industry experts.

  • Programs used include Microsoft Office, Google Drive, WordPress, Ubersuggest, SEMrush, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

DIGITAL MARKETING INTERN - ASPECT SOFTWARE

  • Collaborated with marketers, graphic designers, and web developers to update the websites and social media accounts of their client, a manufacturing company.

  • Researched current marketing trends and how the client compared to their competitors, particularly on Instagram.

  • Chose images and edited or wrote copy for the redesign of the client's website of the company's history. Periodically reviewed the work done by web developers and offered suggestions.

  • Selected images and wrote copy as suggestions for new social media posts, particularly for #tbt (throwback Thursday). Put social media post suggestions into the online calendar used for scheduling social media posts.

  • Uploaded all their TV show episodes to YouTube and edited existing copy or created copy. Integrated these videos with the client's website dedicated to their TV show episodes. 

  • Added tags to all of the client's blog posts. This made it easier to navigate their website.

  • Programs used include DivvyHQ for scheduling social media posts, Meltwater for replying to comments on social media, Google Analytics for collecting data, WordPress for the client’s website, MailChimp for email newsletters, Photoshop for editing images, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and social media accounts Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. 

  • Also assisted Aspect Software in creating a RFP (request for proposal) to redesign an app for a company in the food and beverage industry.
